About me

Hello, I’m Linh.

Born in Hanoi's Old Quarter, making clay in Melbourne.

My story

I was born and raised in Hanoi's Old Quarter, a maze of narrow streets where things are still made, mended and sold by hand. I think that is where my love of handmade things began.

I graduated from the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam and have since made a home in Australia. Today I teach kindergarten full time, which is the best training in patience a potter could ask for.

Home is a busy one: three boys, a kitchen that smells of Northern Vietnamese cooking, and a garden full of roses and Australian natives. Clay is where I slow down. Every mug, bowl and vase is made in small batches, to be used every day.

Beyond the wheel

What fills my days

Handmade vases holding roses, banksia and dahlias

A green thumb

Roses and Australian native plants are my passion. A lot of my vases end up holding something from the garden.
